Maverick Dale Martzen was taken from us far too soon in a tragic car crash. Our car was hit by a driver who was under the influence, driving far above the speed limit while running a stop sign. Because of the selfish decisions he made, our lives are forever changed.

Maverick was an amazing kid. He touched so many lives just with a simple smile, the unforgettable dimples, and long eyelashes. 

Mav was incredibly athletic. At a young age, he found a love for all sports. At the age of 4, Maverick was the star ball boy for a local football team. He loved running up and down the field with the players making sure the ref had the ball! Maverick then made his way to the field playing tackle football at the age of 6 years old. He was the starting running back and defensive end. He was always the first one on the field and the last one off. His hard work and tenacity during practice would show on every game day. He had a fire and a will to succeed that wasn’t seen in many kids twice his age. He was an amazing catcher and enjoyed studying his position and becoming a better version of himself each time he was behind the plate. After finishing travel ball, he went straight to little league being a first round pick in the majors (10-12yr olds) as an 8 year old. As his parents, we were so proud of our boy making it in the upper league.

Not only was he an amazing athlete but he was a fun loving and caring child. Every morning he would pray over his school, teacher, and fellow classmates. At the end of praying he always say “I am blessed, I will continue to be blessed, so I can bless others”. M30 was created as a way for us to continue to bless others in Mavericks honor.
